Private academic tutoring is no longer seen as a last resort for struggling students. Rather, it can complement classroom instruction and now are than ever is necessary given the lack of personal attention available in primary and secondary school education classes today. We understand that everyone learns a little differently, so we customize our tutoring approach, adapting to the individual student's educational style and the subject being taught. We also work together with the teachers at our students' schools. This not only speeds up the learning process, but it allows our tutors to help students to maximize their retention of information and enjoy the process of learning.

With the enormous transitions occurring in 2020 due to Covid-19, we understand that having a tutor who is flexible and responsive is key. We know that parents and students have different needs and desires for learning. That’s why The Learning Shack makes tutoring convenient for you by teaching you in your home (safely!) or tutoring you online, or virtually. At-home tutoring or distance learning is convenient, saves you time, and lets you focus on getting work done, not driving around from place to place. Online tutoring has also been extremely effective, as we are experts using Zoom, Skype, and other virtual tools and technologies.

The Learning Shack instructors currently serve Newport Beach, Newport Coast, Crystal Cove, Pelican Hill, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, and surrounding Orange County areas. Our students attend schools such as Corona Del Mar High School and Corona Del Mar Middle School, Newport Harbor High School, St. Margaret’s, JSerra, Tustin High School, Laguna Beach High School, Fountain Valley High School, Sage Hill School, Harbor Day, Pegasus School, Ensign Middle School, and Davis Elementary School. Students receive private, one-on-one, personalized SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, GMAT prep and academic subject tutoring, in an academic environment that will stimulate their mind and let them feel safe and comfortable, allowing them to concentrate on schoolwork without compromising quality and education.

If you have a friend or two who you'd like to work with, we also have a small group tutoring option as well (3-5 students max). Our small groups add an element of healthy competition, to inspire students to perform at their peak. For those students who are out of the Orange County area or prefer online or virtual tutoring sessions, we offer Zoom tutoring, Skype tutoring, and other online tutoring methods as well!
